> Vita
- I grew in a home where discussion of ideas and history was an encouraged part of family life. From that foundation I went to the University of Washington, receiving a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies (Women’s Studies/Comparative Literature/Art History with an undergraduate thesis: "Androgyny and the Creative Process").
For the 2nd half of the 1970’s I wrote criticism for regional art publications and worked as Director of Documentary Publications for and/or Service and Gallery, a Seattle alternative art space.
In the 1980’s I co-founded a contemporary art bookstore, ArtInForm. Also, during this period and into the 1990’s, I wrote and staged text-based Performance Art pieces.
Into the 2000’s I created videopoems, worked on documentary productions, wrote a femCrit movieblog for WomenInFilm/Seattle, and worked for hire as a script supervisor in commercial film production.
In 2015 my creative endeavors shifted to the cyber medium and remain centered there.
I am...
a lifelong multidisciplinarian with a core affinity for text based, multi-voiced expression.
While I have engaged in the rapid evolution of mediums and expressive opportunities manifest during
my time, the focus of that engagement has been the exploration of creative practice
as the fulcrum for discovering & giving form to the meaning of our connectivity and relation to one another.
This exploration from the beginning has been informed by feminist thinking, both practical and theoretic.
With this focus I’ve given voice to the oft incongruent selves surfacing from my experience as a woman
through tsunamic, cross-cultural change.
I bring these understandings intent on helping to build anOther way for the creative project before us now of
conceiving and living a realigned understanding of ourselves with one another and this earth.
